President of Uzbekistan and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia discuss issues of further development of multifaceted cooperation
On the margins of the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Muhammed bin Salman Al Saud.
The parties discussed relevant issues of further expansion of Uzbek-Saudi multifaceted relations.
At the beginning of the conversation, the Head of our state stressed the timeliness and relevance of organizing the extraordinary summit in Riyadh.
The sides noted with deep satisfaction the ongoing intensive contacts and exchanges at different levels. The volumes of mutual trade and investments, the number of joint ventures are growing.
Issues of promoting new joint projects, in particular in the areas of green energy, modernization of transport infrastructure, communications, agrarian sector and industry were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to the preparation of the upcoming high-level events, including the second summit of the “Central Asia - Gulf Cooperation Council” dialogue in the city of Samarkand in 2025.
During the meeting, the Leader of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia for the conditions created for our citizens to perform Hajj and Umrah.
The sides also exchanged views on regional issues, including the peaceful settlement of the situation in the Middle East.
At that, the program of the working visit to Riyadh was completed and the Head of our state departed for Baku.
