On May 9 at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the solemn events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in World War II.

During the elections for members of the UN Statistical Commission for the 2026-2029 term, held in New York, Uzbekistan was elected to this body for the first time in its history.

The UN General Assembly in New York adopted the resolution initiated by Uzbekistan titled “Decade of Action on Afforestation and Reforestation in Accordance with Sustainable Forest Management”.

In recent years, relations between Central Asia (CA) and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have shown a steady and positive dynamic. The economic potential of the CA and GCC countries, complemented by a deepening political dialogue, mutual interest in cultural and historical ties, and advantageous geostrategic positioning, is enhancing the strategic importance of this partnership format.

On April 23 National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived with a visit to Uzbekistan.

On April 23 in Samarkand, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the Russian Federation headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, currently on a working visit to our country.

On 28-29 April 2025, Tashkent will host the First Central Asia –the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Think Tank Forum on the topic: “Strengthening Strategic Partnership: From Historical Ties to Comprehensive Cooperation”.
