In recent years, consistent reforms have been implemented in our country to support non-governmental non-profit organizations and other institutions of civil society and guarantee their freedom of activity, strengthen social partnership between state bodies and them, implement effective public control, as well as improve the legal framework regulating this area.
I. Currently, the number of NGOs and their separate departments registered in the judicial bodies is 8,938, and the majority of NGOs operating in the Republic fall into the fields of sports, legal/democratic institutions, protection of the rights of youth and disabled people, and development of entrepreneurship. There are relatively few non-governmental non-profit organizations in the field of mass media and journalism (40) and friendship societies

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan announces the accreditation of the foreign media representatives to cover the summit of the Organization of Turkic States, which will take place on November 11, 2022 in Samarkand.

The public discussion of the draft constitutional law "On Amendments and Additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan" is being held based on the principles "The people are the only source and author of laws" and "All important decisions are made on the basis of direct dialogue with the people and taking into account public opinion."

On 15-16 September this year, the city of Samarkand hosted the 22nd summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. It is not by chance that the city which has been the centre of interethnic dialogue, cultural and spiritual cooperation as well as trade and scientific exchanges was chosen for the comprehensive and prestigious event, which attracted the attention of the entire world. This way the emphasis was placed on the Uzbek statehood and its historical potential.

On 15-16 September Samarkand held a very important event - summit of SCO Heads of State. It was different from previous ones due to its extensive program, comprehensive agenda, as well as broad representation of states, international and regional organizations. Leaders and senior representatives of about 20 states and heads of more than 10 international and regional organizations took part in the event.
