Akmal Jumanazarov, Director of the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Uzbekistan, Wafa Jabr Nasser Albusaidi.

The parties discussed issues related to eliminating potential technical barriers to trade between the two countries, as well as the further development of cooperation in the fields of technical regulation, standardization, metrology, and conformity assessment.

An exchange of views took place on expanding cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman, the Directorate General for Standards and Metrology of Oman (DGSM), and the “Atyab International Services” laboratory.

Particular attention was paid to personnel training and professional development, establishing the exchange of specialists, and strengthening direct cooperation between enterprises in the sector.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to actively promote the further development of cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Sultanate of Oman, including the consistent implementation of the projects and initiatives discussed.
