An article highlighting Uzbekistan’s economic reforms and its rise in international rankings has been published in Oman’s popular newspaper Asdaa Oman.

According to the publication, the results of the 2026 Index of Economic Freedom, released by the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, show that Uzbekistan’s position on the global stage has significantly improved. In particular, the country ranked 86th out of 184 nations, scoring 60.3 points. This marks an increase of 2.3 points compared to the previous year.

For the first time, Uzbekistan has been classified in the category of a “mostly free economy.” It was also noted that the country’s indicators exceed not only the global average but also the average for the Asia-Pacific region.

Analyses indicate that positive growth was observed in 8 out of the 12 key indicators that form the index. In particular, efforts to reduce the tax burden, optimize public spending, and ensure financial stability were highly praised by international experts.

The Asdaa Oman publication also gave special recognition to Uzbekistan’s achievements in market openness, investment attractiveness, and trade freedom. At the same time, attention was drawn to ongoing measures aimed at strengthening property rights protection, improving the efficiency of the judicial system, and enhancing the quality of public administration.

In conclusion, the publication emphasized that reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at modernizing the financial sector and strengthening market mechanisms are continuing consistently.
