Uzbekistan’s Tourism Potential Presented in Oman

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Muscat, together with Oman Air, organized an event titled "Discover Uzbekistan and Oman: Developing Bilateral Tourism Ties."

The roundtable took place ahead of the launch of direct flights between Muscat and Tashkent. It was attended by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abdusalom Khatamov, Oman Air Deputy CEO Hamoud Al Alawi, officials from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of Oman, over 10 tour operators, and local influencers. Leading tour operators from the Samarkand region, led by tourism department head J. Suyunov, also joined via video link.

The event featured the presentation of the book "Discovering Uzbekistan" by Darya Sirotina. The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of Oman presented the "Visit Oman" project, and Oman Air representatives shared details about the new Muscat–Tashkent flight.

Hamoud Al Alawi noted that relations between the two countries are growing stronger. He emphasized that direct flights will boost tourist flow and deepen economic and cultural ties. He also praised Uzbekistan's tourism reforms for increasing the country's international appeal.

Participants discussed future cooperation, the importance of the new flight, and ways to expand mutual tourism exchange.
