The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Oman, Abdusalom Khatamov, met with Ejaz Kazi, General Manager of one of the largest tourism companies in Oman, E-Travel & Tours.

The Omani side was informed about the tourism potential of our country, the infrastructure created in this area, the introduction of a 30-day visa-free regime for citizens of the Gulf Arab countries, in particular Omanis, to Uzbekistan, and the planned launch of direct flights on the Muscat-Tashkent route in the near future.

During the meeting, issues of establishing academic ties, exchanging experiences, and organizing visits between the Oman Royal Academy of Administration and the Academy of Public Policy and Governance under the President of Uzbekistan were discussed.

The publications reported that it has become easier for citizens of Oman and other Gulf Arab states to travel abroad, as several foreign countries, including Uzbekistan, have canceled entry visas for citizens of Gulf states for up to thirty days.

The friendly relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Sultanate of Oman are developing and reaching a new level.

According to the Decree No. PF-87 of the President of Uzbekistan, dated May 15, 2025, starting from June 1, 2025, a visa-free regime will be implemented for citizens of the Sultanate of Oman, allowing them to stay in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 30 days from the date of entry.

On June 12, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman.

During the meeting, the parties held a thorough discussion on deepening economic cooperation between the two countries, expanding trade relations, and increasing the volume of bilateral trade. In particular, they exchanged views on enhancing investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Oman, creating favorable conditions for mutual investments, establishing joint ventures, and supporting promising projects.

In recent years, Uzbekistan has undertaken large-scale reforms aimed at transforming its public administration and civil service systems. The primary goal has been to build an efficient, transparent, and citizen-oriented governance model. The progress and potential achieved in this area will be showcased at the UN Public Service Forum, to be held in Samarkand in June 2025. This will be the first time Uzbekistan hosts this prestigious forum, which reflects the strong and growing cooperation between the UN and Uzbekistan in the field of public service.

The first session of the Termez Dialogue on Connectivity between Central and South Asia on the topic “Building a Common Space of Peace, Friendship and Prosperity” started today in Termez.
