On August 21, 2025, during an official visit to Qatar, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov, was received by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar .



On August 21, 2025, during an official visit to Qatar, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov, was received by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar .

The discussion was very open and cordial. Both sides reflected on the impressive progress in Qatar’s development and explored ways for Uzbekistan and Qatar to further strengthen cooperation across trade, investment, innovation, education, and cultural exchange. Particular attention was given to unlocking new opportunities that directly benefit the well-being of both peoples.

They reaffirmed commitment to building a future-oriented partnership based on trust, mutual respect, and genuine friendship between the two countries.

Minister emphasized Uzbekistan’s esteem for Qatar as a reliable and lasting partner, and expressed anticipation that the positive spirit of the meeting will be transformed into practical initiatives to bring the two countries even closer together.

In addition, Minister held talks with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar  .

These bilateral negotiations were comprehensive and constructive, covering a wide range of regional and global topics of mutual interest. Both sides exchanged views on current developments, reaffirming commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination between  two brotherly countries.

Furthermore, Foreign Ministers co-chaired the inaugural meeting of the Coordination Council for Strategic Partnership between Uzbekistan and Qatar.

The agenda was very broad and substantive, covering the full spectrum of bilateral and multilateral cooperation — from political dialogue and trade to investment, innovation, and connectivity. All key areas were discussed with a shared vision for the future.

During the visit, Minister also met with Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs of Qatar.

It was noted that Uzbekistan and Qatar are witnessing unprecedented level of cooperation in all areas, including defense. Discussions covered military cooperation, experience and expertise exchange, and close coordination at the times of increasing regional and global challenges.

This dialogue underscored the importance of deepening strategic partnership and working jointly to enhance peace, security, and prosperity in both regions and beyond.
