The newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Lebanon, Abdusalom Khatamov (with residence in Muscat), presented his credentials to President of Lebanon Joseph Aoun.

Following the official ceremony, during a conversation held between the sides, President Joseph Aoun expressed his sincere gratitude to President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for appointing an Ambassador to Lebanon as a step towards strengthening bilateral relations. He also conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to the Uzbek leader.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan also held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lebanon, Youssef Raji.

During the meeting, both parties expressed mutual interest in developing political, trade-economic, and humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and Lebanon. They also supported proposals to organize bilateral visits at various levels, hold cultural days, and implement initiatives aimed at increasing mutual tourist flows.

It is worth noting that Abdusalom Khatamov arrived in Muscat on February 4, 2024, to assume his post as Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Oman. In March 2024, he presented his credentials to Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
