At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Oman, a member of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Board of Siham Development & Investment, and prominent entrepreneur Siham Al-Harisi shared her thoughts with the Dunyo Information Agency about the UNESCO Conference being held in Samarkand:
“The fact that the city of Samarkand is hosting the 43rd UNESCO General Conference has become a truly global event.
This is the first time the conference is being held outside Paris, in this ancient city — a favorite destination for travelers from all over the world thanks to its rich cultural heritage. This marks a qualitatively new stage in intercultural dialogue and the study of world heritage.
Samarkand has long been known as a bridge connecting cities, and it is no coincidence that this prestigious conference is taking place here today.
The participation of official representatives from 200 countries in Samarkand has undoubtedly turned the city into a platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas between civilizations.
This major gathering of nations also dispels misconceptions that artificial intelligence negatively affects human life or leads to the loss of cultural and historical heritage. On the contrary, if guided properly, artificial intelligence can help preserve world heritage and strengthen universal human values.
In my opinion, the UNESCO Conference being held in Samarkand is a key to success for Uzbekistan, providing an opportunity to showcase the country's culture, lifestyle, and socio-economic achievements on the international stage.”
