At the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi, visited Uzbekistan from November 20 to 21, 2025, and took part in the Second Meeting of Strategic Dialogue between the foreign ministers of the two countries.



At the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi, visited Uzbekistan from November 20 to 21, 2025, and took part in the Second Meeting of Strategic Dialogue between the foreign ministers of the two countries.

The sides noted the steady strengthening of the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China in the new era, based on mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests, and stated they would maintain closer cooperation to promote the building of a community with a shared future.

They emphasized the active dynamics of mutual visits and contacts at all levels, which contribute to further strengthening interstate cooperation on key issues of the bilateral and international agenda.

Both sides reaffirmed their firm mutual support on issues affecting their core interests.

The Chinese side noted its unwavering support for Uzbekistan’s chosen path of national development and expressed readiness to assist in the consistent advancement of major socio-economic reform programs within the framework of the New Uzbekistan Strategy.

The Uzbek side firmly supports the “One China” principle, opposes any form of “Taiwan independence”, and strongly supports all efforts of the PRC government aimed at achieving China’s reunification.

The Chinese side highly praised the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, held in Tashkent on November 15-16, noting that it made an important contribution to further promoting regional cooperation, deepening mutual trust, and strengthening stability and prosperity in the region.

The Uzbek side highly assessed the successful convening of the Fourth Plenum of the 20th CPC Central Committee, considering that this important meeting will further stimulate China’s high-quality development, provide opportunities for joint development to countries around the world, and bring more certainty and positive energy to the world.

Both sides highly valued the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative for the development of international cooperation in the common interests of security, development, and prosperity.

The Uzbek side welcomed and expressed its readiness to actively engage within the framework of China’s Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative, and Global Governance Initiative.

The sides noted with satisfaction the steady growth of trade, the intensification of investment cooperation, and the implementation of joint projects in industrial, transport-logistics, energy, and agricultural sectors.

Both parties expressed their readiness to further promote cooperation in the field of green mineral resources, especially concerning green development across the entire mineral extraction value chain.

The sides will make efforts to intensify cultural and humanitarian cooperation, contributing to stronger ties between the peoples of Uzbekistan and China.

An agreement was reached to continue strengthening mutual support and cooperation in multilateral mechanisms such as the UN, SCO, the “Central Asia – China” format, BRICS, and others.

The results of the Second Strategic Dialogue between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of China were also highly appreciated. It was emphasized that this mechanism has become a new platform for deepening strategic interaction and comprehensive cooperation in priority areas, and will continue to contribute to regional and international peace, enhance mutual understanding, and strengthen mutual trust.
