
On February 11, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov visited Berlin, Germany.
Within the framework of the visit, the delegation met with the Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, during which the strengthening of the partnership and regional cooperation was discussed.
On behalf of the President of the Respublic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, greetings were conveyed and appreciation was expressed for Germany’s unwavering support of Central Asia.
Germany’s role in shaping EU policy toward the region was noted as pivotal, especially through initiatives like the EU Strategy for Central Asia. It was emphasized that bilateral relations continue to grow, with concrete plans for collaboration in areas such as green development, energy, and education. Confidence was expressed that Uzbekistan–Germany relations will continue with strong positive dynamics in all areas.
On the same day in Berlin, the first-ever Ministerial Meeting in the “Central Asia – Germany” format took place. The launch of this mechanism was recognized as a milestone giving the partnership a more systematic and practical character.
Central Asia was described as a dynamic region at the heart of Eurasia, steadily strengthening its unity, economic potential, and global role.
The importance of elevating investment, technological and trade cooperation, expanding collaboration in critical raw materials, green energy, climate, transport connectivity, and logistics, and deepening business dialogue was emphasized.
It was noted that the meeting would give new momentum to the strategic partnership and lay the groundwork for substantive outcomes at the next Central Asia – Germany Summit. Sincere gratitude was conveyed to the German side for the excellent organization of the Ministerial.
