The two countries have established cooperation in the study and protection of more than one hundred thousand manuscripts and architectural monuments stored in Uzbek libraries.
In March 2018, more than 20 million US dollars were spent on the construction of the new building of the Abu Rayhan Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies, which was built with the financial support of the Sultanate of Oman.
On March 11-15, 2019, a delegation led by the Director of the State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan, J.Kh. Ismailova, visited Oman. During the trip, negotiations were held with the Director General of the National Museum of Oman, Jamal al-Musawi, and a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the museums of the two countries was signed.
On July 8-12, 2019, a delegation led by the Head of the National Department of Documents and Archives of Oman, Hamid al-Davyani, visited Uzbekistan. During the visit, the “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Manuscript and Archiving between the Abu Raykhan Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies and the National Department for the Preservation of Documents and Archives of Oman” was signed.
Representatives of the Omani delegation have been participating in many international festivals held in Uzbekistan, such as “Maqom” (September 6-10, 2018, Shakhrisabz city), “Sharq Taronalari” (August 25-30, 2019, Samarkand city) and Hunarmandlar (September 10-15, 2019, Kokand city).
On December 16, 2020, a delegation led by the Chairman of the Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan R. Shaabdurakhmonov participated in the 39th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia, held in Oman.
On August 26-29, 2023, a working visit of a delegation led by the leadership of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and the Imam Bukhari International Research Center was organized to the city of Muscat.
More than 20 Uzbek teachers and students improve their knowledge of the Arabic language at the Sultan Qaboos Higher Education and Science Center every year.
In 2024, Muscat University in Oman signed cooperation documents with universities in Samarkand and Bukhara, as well as the Nordic International University in Tashkent.
Saif bin Salim al-Hadi, professor of the Department of Islamic Studies of the Faculty of Education, Sultan Qaboos University, and an influential theologian in the Sultanate, participated in the work of the VIII International Congress “The Legacy of the Great Ancestors - the Foundation of the III Renaissance”, held in Tashkent and Samarkand on August 23-27, 2024.
The international scientific and practical conference on the topic "Islam is a religion of peace and goodness", which will be held in Tashkent and Khiva on October 15-16, 2024, was attended by an influential representative from Oman - a member of the State Council (the upper house of parliament), Chairman of the Committee on Social and Cultural Issues, Professor Muhammad al-Hajari.
On January 20, 2025, People's Artist of Uzbekistan, Hero of Uzbekistan Munojaat Yulchiyeva participated in the Sufi music festival organized by the "Bait az-Zubair" Foundation.
On April 15-16, 2025, a delegation of the Bukhara region (representatives of the Bukhara State University and the regional philharmonic society) led by the rector of Bukhara State University, Obidjon Khamidov, visited the universities of Muscat and Nizwa in the Sultanate of Oman.
