The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Muscat began its activities in July 2018. The opening of the embassy was carried out at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and within the framework of reforms aimed at developing regional and global cooperation in foreign policy.
Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Oman are developing steadily. One of the important stages in cooperation between the two countries was the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to the Sultanate of Oman on October 4-6, 2009. During the visit, 19 intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents covering political, economic and cultural spheres were signed.
The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Uzbekistan has been operating in Tashkent since April 2010. This serves to further strengthen bilateral relations.
